What Causes Vaginal Bleeding Post A Pelvic Examination?
Hi. I was diagnosed with bv last week. Before I got checked my doctor asked me if I already had my period and I told him yes I did 2 weeks ago so then after he gave me a pelvic exam and swabbed me and after he was done I had old blood on the the swab thing. Ever sense he checked me I ve been bleeding ever sense is that normal to bleed when diagnosed with bv?
It is due to minor mucosal abrasions and will settle by itself. As of now, you can take drugs like tranexamic acid to control bleeding. If bleeding persists you can consult a gynaecologist and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
