What Causes Vaginal Bleeding Post Menopause?

I am almost 53 didn t have a period for 16 month. Then I stated on Easter of this year and I have had 5 since. I am on my period now and I am bleeding very bad. Reminds me of when I had a miscarriage. My tubes are tied so I was not pregnant. Is this normal should I go to the ER?

Hello,

Your symptoms could be related to a hormonal imbalance, which is quite common during the beginning of menopause. Anyway, if the bleeding doesn't stop and you feel weak or low blood pressure, I would recommend going to the ER for a physical exam, a complete blood count for anemia and an abdominal ultrasound.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
