General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Burning on urination may be related to the presence of an urinary tract infection. This may be associated with the abnormal bleeding since physical illness can be associated with a change in the levels of hormones which would then affect menstrual bleeding. It may be best to see your doctor for an assessment which would include urine analysis to check for infection. If an infection is found then antibiotics would be needed for 5 to 7 days.

I hope this helps. Let me know if i can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
