What Causes Vaginal Bleeding When Not Having A Menstrual Period?

what could be the cause of blood loss from my vagina? i am not on my period - i finished that last week. i have been to an exercise class this eve. also had it on sat night and sunday morn after i went out for the eve. its not very red but a very dark almost brown colour.
