What Causes Vaginal Bleeding While On Tri-Sprintec And Minocycline?

age 23, 100 pounds. I am currently talking tri sprintec and minocycline for acne. I have noticed the last few months I have been having break through bleeding. I have been on tri sprintec for 7-8 months and minocycline for 4 ish, Could the minocycline be causing it or is there something I can do so help with the break through bleeding

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Trisprintec is a combined hormone contraceptive. Regular consumption at same time of day ,without a break is essential. Barring this spotting in between is possible. Hypothyroidismis known to cause menstrual irregularity. Minicyclin is not known to have such side-effects. You should consult Endocrinologist for fixing thyroid problem. Take Trisprintec very regularly as advised. periods may get corrected with this. If not consult your gynecologist for change of contraceptive.
