What Causes Vaginal Bleeding While On Active Birth Control Pills?

Hello, I m 26 years old and have been on the pill for about 9 years now. This past month I missed 3 pills during my 2nd week of active pills. I took them all at once and finished out the rest of the pack as I should have. during my 3 week of active pills I started bleeding a bit, I assumed because I missed the pills my period was coming early. Like I said I finished my active pills like I should have, having period like symptoms and bleeding the whole time.Instead of taking the inactive pills that 4th week I started a new pack of active pills. I have noticed blood on the toilet paper when I ve wiped after going to the bathroom since I started that new pack (2 weeks ago now). Do you know what could be causing this?

Hi,

Yes, it is called withdrawal bleeding. If you miss one pill, take it immediately as you remember. If you miss 2 days pills, then wait for withdrawal bleeding for that month and restart pill next month. You will get bleed within 72 hours.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
