Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Vaginal Bleeding With Blood Clots During 9weeks Pregnancy?
My wife is 9weeks pregnant and she had severe bleeding with blood clots yesterday. We immediately went to hospital and found that baby s heartbeat is working fine and hence doctor gave Proluton dipot 250 mg injection and asked to go home and rest. We are afraid whether this situation goes to a miscarriage or will cause any problem to the baby
Based on the history your wife seems to have had symptoms suggestive of a threatened abortion for which her doctor prescribed Proluton-250 injection.
Proluton (hydroxyprogesterone) synthetic form of progestin and has a similar action to the female hormone, progesterone. It is prescribed to prevent miscarriage and preterm birth. It is considered to be safe during pregnancy so there is nothing to worry about it.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
