Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I did my morning walk and afterwards I found a bloody drainage in my underwear. I could not find where the blood was coming from so I soaked my bottom in Epsom salts. I did feel a pain before drainage and only a slight pain after and now hardly any after a few days. I thought the drainage could have come from my vagina so I put my finger in my vagina and pressed down and then saw blood and now it is bleeding. Wondering if I just scraped it with my fingernail and dmade it bleed or if there is something there? Do you think I have a boil or abscess somewhere?
Because you have had bleeding and you are not sure of the origin or what might be causing it, I would advise to have a visit with your doctor. He will be able to examine your outside genitalia and anal area and see if the source of the bleeding is visible and also will do a gynecological exam which will reveal any problems with your vagina or cervix. A pap smear might be ordered and a transvaginal ultrasound to examine the uterus.
The doctor might ask for a urinalysis as well and a rectal examination. After these examinations he will be able to have a better understanding of the cause of the bleeding and the best treatment needed.
I hope I have answered to your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Kind regards,
Antoneta Zotaj General & Family Physician
