What Causes Vaginal Discharge And Stomach Pain?

My wife was laying in bed with a stomach ache, and flatulated. Upon removing her undergarments, she was alarmed to find that there was quite a bit of light-colored blood and a runny mucus discharge remaining. She is not running a temperature and generally feels fine, so is this a cause for alarm? Thank you.
