What Causes Vaginal Discharges With Pus Cells?

Hi, I am 23 and had been on treatment recently for some infection whereby I had some white discharge. My lad results suggested that I had pus cells after treatment I have noticed barely a month later that the discharge is coming back. Could it be the medication did not work or what does it suggest?
