What Causes Vaginal Discomfort Post Non-penetrative Sexual Activity?

I have what feel to be bruises, even though there are no visible signs of bruising, on my vulva and inner thigh in various spots after fooling around with someone. I was fingered but not hard, and this was not my first time doing this. What possibly could be wrong with me?
