What Causes Vaginal Dryness And Painful Intercourse After Starting Tamoxifen?
Hi. I am 52, post menopausal, and was treated last year for stage 0 DCIS (estrogen positive). I had a lumpectomy, radiation, and have been taking Tamoxifen now for 8 months. My problem: since starting Tamoxifen, I now have watery discharge, and ironically vaginal dryness, and intercourse is now painfully irritating to my urethra. Sex with my husband is important to me and I want it to work again. I m starting Replens. I m considering stopping Tomoxifen. What are your thoughts? My email is YYYY@YYYY
Don't stop tamoxifen. Continue tamoxifen. Use lubricant while having sexual intercourse. You need to undergo ultrasound every 6 months to see for endometrial thickness as tamoxifen can cause thickening of uterine lining.
