What Causes Vaginal Dryness?

I am post menopausal, I had blood work done and discovered microscopic blood present in my urine. Internist said he thinks its due to vaginal dryness; will repeat test in 2 months and if the same will move forward with more tests.My gyn also commented on the vaginal situation. What do you think?
