What Causes Vaginal Itching And Soreness?

I recently shave my labia and bikini line. I'm 18, 5'11, I weigh 148 lbs and have never had much issues with this. Its been itchy before but this time when my vaginal area started to itch after I shaved I would go to the bathroom I would itch it with toilet paper when I'd wipe, but that made things worse bc now its itchy AND sore...and now I don't know what to do. This is so embarrassing and I am dreading the thought of seeing a doctor in person. Please help.
