Hi Doctor.i had itching sensation in my vagina and I am 26 weeks pregnant.my doctor prescribed me with clingen vaginal tablet. I used it yesterday night and I felt burning sensation for few mins. Is it common and will this affect my baby inside at Any cause? I am very much scared for my baby whether this infection or the medication I take will disturb my baby.pl help me
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Clingen Vaginal Pessary contains Clindamycin and Clotrimazole as ingredients. It is used for the treatment of bacterial and fungal infections of female reproductive organs. Some of them could experience local reaction such as burning sensation or redness when this pessary is used. However, it would subside on its own gradually with symptomatic treatment. Since the medication acts locally, it would not cause any harm to the pregnancy and developing fetus. Kindly take care to maintain good personal hygiene. Rinse the area with mild antiseptic solution like Savlon. Also use vaginal pH balancing solution like 'v wash' regularly. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
