Hi,

Vaginal itching can be caused by a number of infections. It can be caused by bacteria, fungi or yeast.

Any other associated symptoms have not been mentioned such as increased white discharge, foul-smelling discharge, curdy white discharge which can be useful in diagnosis.

Diabetes can also cause generalized body itching or vaginal itching. Blood sugar levels must be checked.

In case of infections, you need to take antibiotics. If a single drug has not been effective, multidrug regimens are available.

In the case of fungal infections, local application of antifungal cream can be used.

In order to maintain proper vaginal hygiene and ph, many vaginal washes are available which can be used on a daily basis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
