What Causes Vaginal Itching?

...I have a slight itch in my Genital area. Around my vaginal opening, not that horrible it comes and goes. No discharge or bad burning. What could this be? I took a Plan b the other day and I’m also on birth control pills. I got dry down there during inter course and used lubrication, I also had oral sex and Genital sex right after. Is it Just a normal itch??? I’ve been using hydrocortisone cream to help the itch. Thanks.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The itch you have can be due to dryness of vagina exaggerated due to excessive hormones (contraceptive & plan b)/ due to infection contacted during sex. Apply moisturizer/Flucanozole ointment locally. Consult a gynecologist for oral medication. In case of no relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
