What Causes Vaginal Mucus Discharge?`

I was wondering if you could tell me what is going on with me... I have had large clups of mucus (thick pale yellow) coming from my vagina. It happens for a few days at least once a month. I am married with only 1 partner, and we have both been tested for STDs and are negative. Any answers to what this would be?
