Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Insertion of tampon can lead to vaginal abrasions that can present with pain. That may not indicate that your muscles started strengthening . Kegels exercises helps in strengthening the pelvic floor muscles if you are having pain while using tampon you can practice by keeping either pillow or ball in between the thighs and pressing them. Other method is tightening the pelvic muscles with the thought that if you want to hold the urine what you will do like that. By doing like this for 20 to 30 times per day is pelvic floor muscles can get strengthen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
