What Causes Vaginal Pain While Inserting Tampon?

I have been wearing tampons for years. Over the last year, inserting and removing a tampon is painful internally. I do not feel the tampon once it is inserted, but its pretty painful and triggers what feels like cramps when during insertion and removal. Is this something to discuss with my GYN or a simple fix?

Hallow dear,

Your symptom appears to be that of some infection, mostly Bacterial vaginosis, fungal or trichomonal. These vaginal infections cause vaginal discharge also. However, due to the tampon inside the vagina, you might not have noticed it.

These infections cause soreness of vagina. Vaginal outlet is the narrow part of the vagina, hence you feel pain during insertion. May be subsequently you will experience deeper pain also.

It is better to report this discomfort to your Gynaecologist and get internally examined. These infections can be completely cured if treated fully in both the partners.

I hope you are satisfied with the information.
