What Causes Vaginal Pain?

hi, im having really bad pains in the vaginal area. ive been on birth control for a bit over three months, but i do have unprotected sex. ive tried googling what it could be but each answer ends up with "burning" but i dont have any burning. im just wondering what it could be?
