What Causes Vaginal Prolapse And Bulging, Constipation And Bladder Leakage?

I am a 76 yo woman who is now experiencing a vaginal prolapse. I had a vaginal hysterectomy at 40 and oophorectomy about 7 years ago. For the past several months I have suffered with constipation, a little bladder leakage, etc. I found a bulge coming out of my vagina and have sought medical treatment. The urologist has done a cystoscopy and another urobladder type test. My bladder is okay but the vaginal wall is what is protruding. They have tried a pessary which really bothered me and now we are going to talk surgery. I am looking for a recommendation of what is the best way to go. I am not sexually active so that is not a concern.
