What Causes Vaginal Sores With Swollen Glands With Burning Sensation?

My sister has herpes and she has been living with me for the last 2 weeks. I m getting symptoms like swollen glands and burning sensation and a couple of sores in my vagina. I m really scared and my gynecologist appointment isn t until a week from today. My sister told me I that the only way I could get herpes is through sexual intercourse, is that true? I haven t had sexual intercourse.
