What Causes Vaginal Spotting After Having Sex?

I totally stopped having a period at age 44, had also lost 130 lbs. around that time. Then if I had sex, I d spot for a few days. when I was 57 & in a relationship, I spotted after sex every time. No relationship in 8 yrs. I had a scan of everything almost 2 yrs. ago, all was in good shape, so hen I started spotting bit more, was given a cream to use that made me bleed more, so stopped using it. last 2-3 months bleeding more & need to use a panty liner regularly. but not much flow. Problem, is getting to my MD, who is 35 miles away. No longer have my own way to get there, & the person who takes me, has canceled past 3 times. I know I need to go, just waiting another 2 weeks, then I can get here, being 65. Feels like I m about to have a period, then last 3-5 days. I don t have a credit card, I can Use at this time, sorry I wasted your time.

OB and GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

If you’ve gone through menopause, you shouldn’t have any menstrual bleeding. If you have any bleeding -- even if it’s only spotting -- you should see a doctor. She’ll want to rule out serious causes, like cancer. I advise you to go for a TVS and a PAP smear for further evaluation and management. You can write me back once the investigations are done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Naira Jahangir, OB and GYN Specialist
