General & Family Physician 's  Response

Hi & Welcome to HCM.

Hormonal changes are responsible for vaginal spotting and bleeding following the intake of One step Plan-B.
Unexpected bleeding, breast tenderness and abdominal pain are some of the common side effects associated with the use of post coital emergency contraceptive pill or One step Plan B.
It should go away by the time of your next period. However, it may cause your next period to be heavier or lighter than usual. It may also come earlier or later than is normal for you.
If you don't get your period within three weeks, get a pregnancy test to make sure you're not pregnant.

Hope to have answered your query.
Best regards.
