What Causes Vaginal Spotting And Burning Sensation?

Hello, I am a 58yrs female. I went through the change about 3/1/2 4 years ago. I had my period on and off when I first started the change until one day it stopped and never came back. Today I went to urinate and noticed on the paper that I had a light color of red, I decided to go a bit deeper and inserted the paper and noticed fresh blood, not a lot but enough,I did it again and noticed some more,at this point I felt a slight burning sensation which I am still experiencing. Now It feel like when I use to have my period with a slight discomfort around my ovaries. What could this be?

Hi, I think you should go for evaluation by a gynecologist. It may be due to atrophic vaginitis. Also do a ultrasound to see the endometrial thickness. If it is more than 4 mm, you may need endometrial biopsy to rule out endometrial carcinoma. You can take some medicines like Tranexamic acid to stop the bleeding.
