General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Experiencing vaginal spotting and abdominal cramps after intercourse could be due to the following reasons:
1. Infection like pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), or a sexually transmitted infection (STI), like chlamydia.
2. Mechanical injuries leading to damage to the vagina, such as tears caused or by dryness or friction during sex.
3. Cervical or Uterine polyps.
4. Inflammation of the cervix called 'Cervicitis'.
The following things needs to be done to evaluate for the cause:
1. Pregnancy test with urine sample
2. Pelvic examination through per vaginal examination
3. Per speculum examination to visualize the cervix
Kindly visit Gynecologist in this regard for appropriate management of the cause accordingly.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
