What Causes Vaginal Spotting Before Periods?

Hi doctor I normally have my period for at least four to five days , heavy enough aswell but last month they just stopped after one and a half days, im baffled because I m now four days away from my next period and im getting slightly blood type show when wiping, I have been trying for a baby for one year and a half , I did a pregnancy test today but got a negative result, I m cramping since last month please help thankyou

Hi,
In the current scenario, the best way to confirm/exclude pregnancy is to go for the estimation of the serum beta-hCG titres. Home pregnancy tests can read well when performed 3-7 days after a missed period with a fresh early morning sample of urine. If pregnancy is excluded, you can get checked further for the presence of any local lesions and hormone imbalances through further investigation. Else, you should get treatment for possible threatened pregnancy if viability is established. Hope this helps.
