What Causes Vaginal Spotting Between Periods?

I have been having a bloody mucous discharge for the past 2 months off and on when I wipe. My cycle have been normal and this discharge happens in between my cycles. I have a 6 month old baby and my husband and I have begin to try to concieve again. I have been diagnosed with gential warts in the past and I am scared that this could be a sign of cancer. What do you think this could be and what should I do I have no health insurance.
