What Causes Vaginal Spotting During Pregnancy?

I went to the ER yesterday because I was experiencing spotting after I urine and vaginal pains. I m six weeks pregnant and 6days according to my last day of my first period. I had blood work done and a ultrasound. My blood work came back positive for pregnancy. However, my ultrasound showed no yolk sac or fetal pole or heartbeat. At that moment my fiancé and I are worried. I never been pregnant before so I m freaking out. The doctor findings were small cystic structure within the endometrium measuring 6mm in maximal transverse diameter. No evidence of yolk sac or fetal pole. Possibly early intrauterine gestational sac at approximately 4weeks and 5 days. After I went home yesterday from the hospital it stopped. I m now spotting again and it s just not when I pee I m worried.can you please help?

Hi,

The test indicates early pregnancy. Your ultrasound also says the same, fetal heart may Not be visible in scan at 5 weeks so that's not a big deal. You need to follow up with scan.

Similarly spotting during early pregnancy is common and mostly normal. Don't panic, most people have a healthy pregnancy with spotting early in pregnancy.

So report to your doctor if bleeding is more, or if severe pain. So relax and follow with your obstetrician regularly.
