Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Spotting during pregnancy needs to be investigated. This can be suggestive of onset of labor pain. Purple spots on vagina can be due to accumulation of blood. I suggest you to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment of the developing baby.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
