What Causes Vaginal Spotting Post Intake Of Unwanted 72 Along With Delayed Periods?

Doc I have sex with my gf then she take unwanted 72 within 72 hours then after 4 days a little bit of bleeding start and it continues for 3 days and now her period delay is there any chance of pregnancy and why bleeding takes place after 3 days of taking pill

Hi,
I understand your concern.
Unwanted 72 is an emergency contraceptive with high dose of hormones. It prevents pregnancy if taken within 72 hours ( earlier the better).
Your friend had the pills in scheduled time- so the pregnancy will be prevented.
The high dose hormonal level brpoght up by the pills comes down to few days, this causes withdrawal bleeding It is within 8 days of taking pills. Your friend had this after 3 days of pills.
Also , the high dose hormones cause an imbalance in routine hormonal menstrual cycle- this leads to delay in next menstrual period --up to 8 days delay.

Hi,
It seems that this is withdrawal bleeding of unwanted 72 tablets.
This indicates that there is no risk of having pregnancy.
Now she might be having next period on this date.
