Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
38 yrs old, 6 children, tubes tied for 7 yrs, same man now for 1 1/2 yrs. 3 days after period (normal) ended, had sex - noticed bright red blood when cleaning up (just water & fingers). 3 days later, small amounts of bright red, thin blood, but only internally. No leaking and not there when urinating. please advise.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I have read your description and understand your concern. The bleeding/spotting what you could be experiencing after intercourse could be due to the following reasons: 1. Presence of uterine/cervical polyp, which could be bleeding. 2. Cervical inflammation/infection called 'cervicitis'. 3. Shedding of small amount of remnant endometrium which could have been retained during the periods. However, it would be advisable to get a per speculum examination done by consulting Gynecologist to know what could be the cause. Also, you may require a ultrasound scan of pelvis to confirm the diagnosis. Accordingly, this condition could be treated. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
