What Causes Vaginal Spotting Post Unprotected Sex While On Depo Shot?

I got my depo shot December 28th being my second day on my period. My period was gone by New Years. I haven t had a period since which I ve heard was normal. February 6th I had unprotected sex as well as on February 10th. I had some spotting on February 17th which was gone within an hour. Again on Febuary 19th I had some spotting but none since then. What could cause my spotting? Is it normal or could it be pregnancy?

Understand your concern
I think it is side effects of depo shot due to hormone imbalance
Pregnancy may be possible but should be confirm by Blood HCG level.
Other cause may be:
Endometriosis
PCOS
Adenomyosis/fibroid
Cervical dysplasia and endometrial dysplasia


Following are side effects of depot shot:
1. Doesn’t protect against STIs
2.weight gain, tiredness, and possibly a decrease in bone density
3.very irregular menstrual bleeding or spotting.
So i think it is may be side effects of depo shot.

But as you did unprotected intercourse.
You have to confirm pregnancy by testing Blood HCG level as it is more specific than urine HCG kit.

If necessary consult with gynecologist and do usg and full hormoone profile like LH, FSH, estrogen, progesterone, thyroid profiele.
