What Causes Vaginal Spotting While On Nuvaring?

Hello. I just started using Nuvaring and am on my second ring. I am due to take it out today. I did not take a week break between the rings to let myself have a period. Now I am curious if I should take a week break because the past week I have been spotting and having minor cramps and think I may have shed any excess uterine lining. If I take it out will it trigger another period?

Hi I think you should have a week Break. Spotting is a common side effect of nuvaring. It will go away on its own. Don't worry about it. You can take some medicines like tranexamic acid to stop the bleeding. Hope it helps.
