What Causes Vaginal Spotting While On Yasmin Birth Control Pills?

I am taking Yasmin pills and after finishing the pack ( Monday 7 November) I took primolut nor for 4 days ( Thursday to Sunday 10 Nov - 13 Nov) to delay my period. I have my usual withdrawal bleeding every Friday ( 11 Nov ). I started my new pack of Yasmin on Tuesday (15 Nov) but I experienced spotting on Thursday (17 Nov) and its been 7 days and I still have spotting. Is this normal bleeding or spotting only because I took primolut nor last week? I have never experience spotting while taking Yasmin.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is quite normal with Yasmin. Nothing much to worry and it will settle by itself. As of now, no definite treatment is required either. If bleeding persists you can consult a gynaecologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
