What Causes Vaginal Spotting While On Birth Control Pills?

hi, I recently started taking birth control pills, im into the second month of taking them. I noticed that the first month my period was about a week and a half to two weeks long. My second period came on time, was pretty regular, and then a few days after it ended, i started to spot blood and that has been going on for about a week and a half now. It s very light, but I m just wondering if that s normal two months into birth control. I ve also noticed a dramatic increase in breast swelling and they have been too sore to touch, as well as weight gain. Is that all normal two months in?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is quite normal with hormonal pills especially in the initial days of usage. Nothing much to worry and it will settle by itself. As of now, no definite treatment is required either.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
