What Causes Vaginal Spotting While Suffering From UTI?

My urine was tested today and I was diagnosed with a mild UTI and prescribed antibiotics for one week. I m worried that I ALSO have a small amount of pink blood/small blood clotting VAGINALLY as well. I mentioned that twice to the Doctor but she doesn t seem at all worried. Is this normal for a UTI in the urethra?? I have been in menopause for two years and had colon cancer/chemo during the last 18 months. Should I worry?

Hello,

I think you should consider visiting a gynecologist because the cause of postmenopausal metrorrhagia needs to be determined. A colposcopy needs to be done, an ultrasound needs to be done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka
