What Causes Vaginal Spotting With Clots While On Pirmella?

I am on the birth control Piremella (1/35). I am experiencing a spotting episode with clots almost like the beginning of period yet, it is not time for my period. I am just now starting week 3 of my first pack but I have missed one dose in the past three days. Is this normal? I have also taken a pregnancy test and it came back negative.

Break through bleeding can occur when using the oral contraceptive.

It is not uncommon.

If it continues with the other cycles of medication then you may need to use an alternative oral contraceptive or another form of contraception.
