What Causes Vaginal Spotting?

Hi I took a pregnancy test on Monday it was negative. Usually my period is around the beginning of the month and I have not got it yet. Today when I woke up there was an orange spotting and when I used the restroom later there was nothing.. Could this be a sign of pregnancy?

Hi,
If you have missed your period for more than a week, please perform a home pregnancy test with a fresh early morning sample of urine. If positive, you may go on to get a proper clinical evaluation followed by a trans-vaginal sonogram to check the pregnancy status. You may also get a blood test for pregnancy if the urine test gives equivocal results. The occurrence of the spotting could mean an implantation bleeding if the pregnancy is positive; it could mean an impending period or a breakthrough bleed if the pregnancy test reads negative. Hope this helps.
