What Causes Vaginal Tightness During Sex?

I have been with the same guy for 3 years now and for the past 2 years we have been sexually active. But all of a sudden I have been feeling tighter to the point that it hurts me when he first puts it in.. After about a minute the pain subsides. Also if he goes in all the way it hurts up by my uterus? Any idea what this could be from?

Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

According to your information, it is mostly suggestive of Vaginismus. It is a condition that affects a woman's ability to engage in vaginal penetration.

Urinary tract and vaginal infection should be ruled out. Stress and anxiety are associated factors.

Kegel exercise, psychological counseling, Anxiolytics and antidepressants are mainstay of treatment strategy. Short course antibiotic can be given in case of pelvic or urinary infection.

Maintain genital hygiene. Procure complete prescription from your doctor. Good luck and take care.
