What Causes Variations In Platelet Count While On Cold Eeze With Promacta?

Hi- I am a 47 year old with Chronic ITP and have been using Promacta for the past 7 months. Since then, my platelet levels have stabilized & I have not needed IVIG treatment (until today). I am currently taking 75 mg of Promacta because I was scheduled to have gall bladder surgery today. The only thing that I have done differently in the past week (platelets were 80,000 last week) was take cold ease ( zinc mouth spray) because I felt like I was catching a cold. I took it for 3 days in a row several times/day. My theory is that the zinc may have negatively affected the Promacta & made it less effective. Have you ever heard of this happening to anyone else?
