What Causes Vein To Show Out In The Wrist?

I have a fatty like vein looking thing on my left wrist near my veins and tendon. I have no idea what it could be. It starts at the top of my wrist, and is visable till about 3inches down and is about 3/4 of an inch wide. It doesn't hurt when pressure is applied. What could it be?
