What Causes Veins Burst With Varicose Vein Problem?

Hi, my left foot is 3/4 covered in blueish spider veins, with some bulging, yesterday one burst just after a shower, spraying blood. I managed to elevate my foot and stop the bleeding. Why did this happen, is it dangerous & can it happen again? I also have some varicose veins.

Hi,
This is one of the commonest complications of Varicose veins. spider veins dont usually bleed much. Anyway, I suggest you see a Vascular Surgeon who could examine you and probably get a Color Doppler of the veins of that limb done to look for SFJ & SPJ competency and decide upon what type of treatment you would require. Your spider veins can be dealt with help of Foam Sclerotherapy which is an office procedure.
Dont worry, It should be alright but please see a Vascular Surgeon.
