What Causes Vertigo After Suffering From Cold?

My wife and I (age 67) are experiencing brief vertigo/balance sensations over the last few days. We have both just got over two weeks of cold/congestion, otherwise healthy. We are asking each other could there be something going on in the house - yes, only noticed it indoors. I don t think there is any chance of carbon monoxide, no gas or engines. Any ideas on what to look for?

other details like diurnal variation of vertigo, positional variation, history of painting/ any other chemical use in house, history of any drug intake like antihypertensives, etc, any cardiac disease, blood pressure,change in dietary habits, ventilation aspect of house are important and need to be assesed. what about other family members in the house.
