What Causes Vertigo Upon Turning The Head To The Left?

I have been dealing with vertigo for over a week and have seen a physical therapist. Today I did the exercises on my own and am still spinning when I turn my head left. Does this mean my vertigo is on the left? Which side should I avoid sleeping on? Thanks!

vertigo can b there because of many causes but commonly it happens because of benign paroxysmal postitional vertigo , it happens when u rapidly change in head movement
