General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
Having a low body temperature below the normal range of 97.7°F to 99.5°F (36.5°C to 37.5°C) can be a sign of an underlying medical condition. Some possible causes of low body temperature include hypothyroidism, hypoglycemia, hypothermia, sepsis, Addison's disease, medication side effects, and certain infections or autoimmune disorders. Consult your doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
