What Causes Vibrations In Lower Left Leg?

I noticed before I had a light vibration in my lower left leg. It sort of went away but now it's back again. I will just be sitting and it feels like a cell phone is vibrating in my leg, it's a repetitive vibration, not constant...its like ringing....what could cause this? Thanks so very much.
