What Causes Vinegar Like Odor From Head And Face On Perspiring?

My husband has recently developed a vinegar odor mostly on his head and face when he perspires. I have to wash his pillow weekly and his hat also. He has only been like this for about six months. I know this could be symptomatic and it worries me. If I can have some information I can ask the doctor to check it during his physical. Thank you JoAnn VanStone

hi there

your husband concern is bromohidrosis

ask him to apply sweat nil lotion twice daily

this temporarily stops perspiration

he can start erythromycin 500 mg tab twice daily for 7 days

they are harmless antibiotics for controlling normal bacteria which are fermenting during perspiration
