What Causes Violent Dreams Before Beginning Of Periods?

I noticed that I have crazy, often violent dreams when I have PMS, which is often the first sign that my period is coming soon. I had the LEEP procedure last week (a week after my period) and I have been having these crazy vivid dreams and moodiness ever since. Can this be hormone driven as well?
